Top 5 apps you just can’t live without.

Hey Tactites! Brace yourselves, I’m here to let you know about the most useful apps (in my eyes) that you would either use on a day-to-day basis, or just when you would really need to.

First I’m going to start off with instant messaging, you know what’s coming, it’s WhatsApp! The messaging app that Facebook bought for 19 billion.

WHATSAPP

So, what’s so great about Whatsapp you ask? Well you can basically  connect to anyone in your contacts, if you have Wi-Fi or 3G. It can be really annoying when you run out of credit, well no need to panic, with Whatsapp all you need to do is connect to the internet and you’re back on track.

Whatsapp lets you text your contacts, (who also have Whatsapp), allows you to send pictures, videos and voice recordings too.

But that’s not the best part, you can see when your message has delivered to the person because it shows up with 1 green tick next to it. And you can see when the person has read your message, because it comes up with 2 ticks next to it! How fantactus is that, so you can see if someone has ignored you…. or actually it could work against you if you’re trying to ignore someone else… It’s a great social app to connect with your contacts without using up all your credit! Its Great! The good thing with this is that you’re not limited with your contacts, unlike iMessage you can connect to people with Android or Google phones, or anyone who has the app, therefore has no limits.

 GOOGLE DRIVE

Moving away from instant messaging, an app I really find useful is the Google Drive app. Now, of course you would need a google account to access this but it’s totally worth it!

Google Drive allows you to upload any important files/work all into one place, your personal drive! You can access this drive from anywhere, all you need to do is sign in, and then you can access all your documents!

The thing I love about this spectactular app is that you can create lots of different folders and re-name them, you can create an organised work flow. Of course you can upload all your files via your computer/laptop, or if you want, your other devices. Having the Google Drive app on your phone makes you feel like you’re carrying all your important documents in a safe folder, where ever you go. And as a bonus, the App looks really neat!

Here is what it looks like on the iPhone..

Nice, right?

TUBE MAP

TUBEMAP1

Here’s a life-saver of an app, it’s called Tube Map. If you’re ever visiting London, or you live there, then this app is a must. Especially if you’re getting the tube to work every day! It tells you which tubes go to which stops and at what times, it also updates you on any delays on the train line! So instead of stressing out and finding out which line to get on next and at what stop and what time it is, this app will really help you get around fast without any hassle or confusion!

FIDESREEF OFFLINE MAPS

If you love to travel, then you will love these apps, they are so useful and will stop you from getting lost in a foreign country… no one wants that now do they? Fides reef have created a selection of apps targeted at each country across the globe offering offline maps that connect via GPS. This app could not be more useful. You don’t want to use the internet when you’re in a foreign country, that would cost…a lot. So download this app (depending on which country you are visiting) before you jet off, and then you will be able to navigate around without getting lost.

You can search for locations within that city, and drop a pin to where you want to go. You can locate where you are at that particular moment, so it’s clear to see the rest of your journey.

For example, if you wanted to visit Rome, simply having this app will show you where you are, and the directions in which you need to go (if you drop a pin). It’s so easy to use, and it’s a life saver! No 3G required, just GPS.

FLIPBOARD

This app is just brilliance, it is literally your personalised magazine, you chose what you want to read. Once you’ve downloaded the app you tick which categories that you are interested, for example; Fashion; Gaming; Technology…. you get the gist. And whichever categories you tick are the things that will appear on your flip board! So if you tick that you are interested in gaming or fashion, then those categories will show up and the ones you will be able to flick through and read. You can find out lots of interesting information with this app and it’ll keep you updated everyday! You can read it every morning like your reading a digital newspaper! Difference is, reading the stuff you actually want to know about. And of course you can add different categories that you’re interested in, to expand on what you’re reading.

So this is what flip board looks like, with different categories, all you need to do is click on your categories and read away! Picture source from:http://sheikhdacize.com/category/applications/

SHAZAM

shazam2

Shazam is one of those apps that everyone has to have. Do you ever hear a song on TV that you really like but don’t know the name of? It can be so frustrating, but with this app you don’t need to struggle through the annoyance anymore. You just simply ‘Shazam’ the song by pressing an icon and it detects the song you are listening to and then tells you the name of it! And not only tells you the name, but it allows you to click on the song and download it on iTunes if you wish.

Now that is a useful app, especially for a music lover like myself!
